INSPIRATION

The Tomb of Nobody was inspired by a Choose Your Own Adventure storybooks, and the sci-fi fantasy works of Jules Verne and HG Wells. The impetus behind the project was to allow the audience to experience an adventure.

Our site, the beautiful Lightship 93 played a huge role in the framing of this adventure and as such the style and story of the performance was akin to 19th century adventure stories. We drew upon these stories, most notably Jules Verne’s Voyages Extraordinaire, to create the world of our performance.

Below is a video from our original recce to Lightship 93 as well as a series of images that we drew inspiration for the performance from.
